CAMERAS & SENSORS

Furnace Camera Systems

  • Visual & Near Infrared mode
New camera sensor utilized in the camera allows Visual (VIS) and Near Infrared (NIR) imaging with very high NIR resolution of 5 Mpixel. This new camera is designed for applications inside the industrial furnaces, batch monitoring, batch blanket position identification as well as thermal imaging. Different spectral band allows for simultaneous thermal imaging and flame observation.

  • High speed data transfer
The camera advanced electronics is designed to meet criteria of the Industry 4.0 standards for fast digital data transfer meeting demands of the advanced image analysis.

  • A.I. software features
Camera images are processed by advanced software using neural network to extract important information from the NIR images.

Retraction mechanisms

Retraction mechanism using gravitational force

The retraction mechanism is designed for emergency removal of the water cooled jacket from the furnace in case of unfulfilled conditions for the correct function of the camera system.

The ejection of the cooler is provided by gravitational force. This ensures the correct, long-term and safe operation of the cooling jacket and the camera system.

The parts of the retraction system include a position sensor and mechanism for fixing the proper position of the water cooled jacket with camera unit.

Retraction mechanism using electro-mechanical system

The ejection of the cooler is provided electro-mechanically.

This ensures the correct, long-term and safe operation of the cooling jacket and the camera system.

Technical data

Water-cooled jacket with camera system

The water-cooled jacket is designed to protect the camera system (camera, lens and filters) against high temperatures and negative environmental influences in the melting furnace and its surroundings.

  • Scope of use: up to 1600°C (measured at the front of the jacket)
  • Dimension: ⌀ 63 mm
  • Length: up to 1000 mm (standard)
  • Recommended dimension of a hole in the furnace block: ⌀ 80 mm
Camera unit - NIR
  • 1/2.5 inch camera with CMOS NIR sensor, up to 5 Mpx resolution
  • Spectral response: 0.8 – 1.1 μm
  • High Temperature Pinhole Lens (FL 3.8), angle of view: 80° x 64° (H x V) or 90° x 75° (H x V)
  • Image to be displayed in grayscale or color to show temperature
  • NIR camera can measure until 1800°C
  • Thermal scale set up arranged based on customer request in “GS BROWSER – Visualization software”
Retraction mechanism

The retraction mechanism is designed for emergency removal of the water-cooled jacket from the furnace in case of unfulfilled conditions for the correct function of the camera system.

Closing mechanism

The closing mechanism is designed for closing the furnace space in case the camera is moved out of the furnace.

Media control cabinet

The media control cabinet is designed to set the correct amount of cooling water and compressed air for the correct function of the water-cooled jacket with camera system.

In case of failure of the flow of cooling water or air, installed sensors will provide a signal to the retraction mechanism to ensure the protection of the water-cooled jacket with camera system.

Electric control cabinet

The electric control cabinet is designed to control and monitor correct operation of the camera system.

The system monitors following technological parameters:

  • Position of the water-cooled jacket
  • Temperature of the camera
  • Water temperature (input and output)
  • Minimum water flow
  • Minimum pressure of the compressed air
  • Flow of the compressed air
Visualization unit

The visualization unit is designed for image display of the furnace interior and proper camera settings. It can be used to record photos and videos.

Main parts:

  • BROWSER – Visualization software
  • Monitoring software
  • Personal computer including monitor, mouse and keyboard
