GLASS SERVICE remains operational while respecting COVID-19 measures

19 3 月, 2020

The situation with COVID-19 is changing quickly. Our priorities are to keep GS employees safe, to support the businesses that depend on GS, and to ensure that GS doesn’t contribute to the spread of COVID-19.

We sincerely hope the current measures that have been put in place by authorities will be effective against COVID-19 in the foreseeable future. GS has fully complied with governmental directives and has adapted work schedules in order to protect our employees and visitors from risk of exposure.

GS teams remain fully operational with support for furnace modelling, GFM software, laboratory services, Expert System ESIIITM, cameras, raw materials, and administration. In order to protect our employees from internal exposure, we have organized our teams using a combination of work from home offices and shift work at the company office departments.

Our engineers will be available to assist and answer customer questions at all times. Work continues on existing projects with a goal to meet delivery terms and timelines. When on-site technical work is not possible, we propose to hold meetings using web conferencing, and/or remotely access installed systems where the capabilities exist.

In this changing global working environment, GS would like to assure its customers that support remains available to them. We have always valued your business, and many of our customers have become friends. We wish you all good health and a sound future.

Sincerely,

Josef Chmelar, President
Erik Muijsenberg, Vice President
Petr Chmelar, Vice President & General Director

GS has implemented the following precautionary measures, effective as of March 7, 2020:

    • Encouraging employees to work from home

We have asked employees who visited recently risk areas to work from home. We may expand the work-from-home requirement to other employees in the coming days.

    • Pausing all business travel and discouraging personal travel

We have paused all business travel to risk areas and advised employees to avoid large gatherings. While it remains an individual decision, we are encouraging employees to reconsider personal travel. Airports and air travel are likely to be higher-risk.

    • Suspending visitors from risk areas to GS offices

For the time being, we have paused all visits from risk areas to our offices. We are moving in-person meetings to video-conference wherever possible.

We do not yet know how severe COVID-19’s consequences will be. While its impact may be limited, we would like to take precautionary steps before they are required. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Note: we will update this post with new developments
